This trip allows you to practice your yoga in beautiful spots while having enough time to explore the Golden Land with its cultural heritage, spiritual culture, and beautiful landscapes. The detailed program

Day 1 : Yangon Arrival

Welcome to Myanmar and your yoga retreat! Arriving in the former capital of Yangon provides a great introduction to the country’s rich history and culture as well as a magical place for yoga. Visit the 70-meter-long reclining Buddha statue at the Kyauktatgyi Pagoda and discover the wonder of the spiritual Shwedagon Pagoda. The day comes to a close with a yoga session alongside one of the city’s lakes, where the buzz of the city disappears amid the leafy gardens.

Day 2 : Yangon – Bagan

An early morning yoga session will be held at Kandawgyi Park, a green oasis in the center of town. Continuing on a spiritual theme, a visit will be made to a famous Buddhist meditation center. Learn about the significance of meditation in the lives of Myanmar’s Buddhist residents and then learn the traditional techniques used by monks and regular citizens to enlighten their minds. Take an afternoon flight to Bagan where 2,000 religious monuments blanket the flat plains. An evening yoga session in the tranquil surroundings of the archeological zone relaxes the mind and refreshes the body.

Day 2 : Yangon – Bagan

 

An early morning yoga session will be held at Kandawgyi Park, a green oasis in the center of town. Continuing on a spiritual theme, a visit will be made to a famous Buddhist meditation center. Learn about the significance of meditation in the lives of Myanmar’s Buddhist residents and then learn the traditional techniques used by monks and regular citizens to enlighten their minds. Take an afternoon flight to Bagan where 2,000 religious monuments blanket the flat plains. An evening yoga session in the tranquil surroundings of the archeological zone relaxes the mind and refreshes the body.

Day 3 : Bagan

 

An early morning wake-up is needed for a special yoga session in the shadow of Shwezigon Pagoda, one of Bagan’s holiest monuments– a unique and memorable location for yoga. The remainder of the day will be spent exploring the main monuments of Bagan, such as the Ananda Temple and the Nan Paya Temple, as well as some traditional handicraft workshops. Late in the afternoon, transfer by boat to a sandbank in the middle of the Irrawaddy River for a sunset yoga session. In the middle of the river, surrounded by the sounds of the gently flowing water, the yoga session is perfect for relieving any tension and focusing the mind for a restful night of sleep.

Day 4 : Bagan

Another early start is needed to reach an elevated location which provides views over the Bagan plains and the Irrawaddy River. Following the yoga session at this scenic space return to Bagan where a local horse-drawn carriage will be used for exploring the town at a slower pace. Visit more temples and then head to a local monastery and partake in the daily alms ceremony which earns merit for the donors and provides a richer understanding of the Myanmar Buddhist culture. The afternoon is spent visiting a village’s public library and making a donation of materials. Cap off the day with an evening yoga session by the hotel’s pool, reflecting on the day’s activities and contribution to the community

Day 4 : Bagan

Day 5 : Bagan – Kalaw (by car)

 

Today starts with a 6-hour drive, leaving the low dry zone behind and winding in to the lush, elevated Shan Hills. The destination is Kalaw, a former British hill station which still has the feeling of a resort town. The fresh air, green hills, and quiet atmosphere make Kalaw the perfect location for an active adventure. Take an afternoon hike to a tranquil location for an evening outdoor yoga session. Soak in the fresh air and tranquility of Kalaw during the 1.5 hour session and then retreat back to town for the evening.

Day 6 : Kalaw – Tha Yet Phu – Kan Par Ni – Wa Gyi Myaung

The morning again starts with a yoga session in the Kalaw hills. Then drive outside the city and embark on a 2-day trek in the beautiful Shan Hills, embracing the natural beauty of the area and learning about the various cultures of the hill tribes that reside in the region. Set off on foot, passing through small villages where ways of life have remained untouched by time.  The evening will be spent in a local village, enjoying a home cooked meal and experiencing the culture and traditions of the residents.

Total walking time: 5-6 hours; 70% flat, 30% uphill.

Day 6 : Kalaw – Tha Yet Phu – Kan Par Ni – Wa Gyi Myaung

The morning again starts with a yoga session in the Kalaw hills. Then drive outside the city and embark on a 2-day trek in the beautiful Shan Hills, embracing the natural beauty of the area and learning about the various cultures of the hill tribes that reside in the region. Set off on foot, passing through small villages where ways of life have remained untouched by time.  The evening will be spent in a local village, enjoying a home cooked meal and experiencing the culture and traditions of the residents.

Day 7 : Waa Gyi Mayung – Khaung Daing

The morning sounds of the village coming to life provides the wake up call for this morning. Take advantage of this tranquil atmosphere with an early yoga session, letting the fresh, cool air invigorate the senses. After breakfast at the host family home, set off once again on foot towards Inle Lake. The hike winds down through villages and with beautiful views on its way to Khaung Daine, a village on the shores of Inle Lake. Arriving at mid-day, transfer for lunch followed by a second yoga session at a local monastery before continuing on to the hotel for a good night’s rest.

Day 8 : Inle Lake

Experience the tranquility of Inle Lake with an early morning yoga session on a house with stilts over the water. The open-air terrace provides panoramic views of the lake and the tranquil waters are the ideal backdrop for a peaceful yoga session. Following a healthy breakfast at the hotel, set off for a day of exploring the lake’s main sights by motorized boat. Highlights include the famed Buddha images at Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery, the gilded Buddha images of Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, and various traditional crafts from around the lake. The day concludes with another yoga session alongside the lake.

Day 8 : Inle Lake

Day 9 : Inle Lake – Ngapali Beach

 

Leave Inle Lake today and head to the beautiful coastal village of Ngapali. Ngapali is the country’s most popular beach but as it only has a few hotels it still retains its quiet vibe and is not very developed– making it the perfect place to relax the body, mind, and soul. Regroup for a sunset yoga on the sand with the sound of waves lapping on the sand providing the soundtrack for a tranquil and unforgettable session.

Days 10 & 11 : Ngapali Beach

The next two days are free, allowing for individual yoga practice at one’s own pace. Optional activities include snorkeling trips, bike rides, boat trips to remote beachside villages, or simply relaxing on the white, sandy beach.

Days 10 & 11 : Ngapali Beach

 

The next two days are free, allowing for individual yoga practice at one’s own pace. Optional activities include snorkeling trips, bike rides, boat trips to remote beachside villages, or simply relaxing on the white,sandy beach.

Day 12 : Ngapali Beach – Yangon

There is time this morning for one more seaside yoga session before flying back to Yangon. The 12-day tour comes to a close this afternoon, but not before taking time to reflect about the physical, spiritual, and cultural experiences had in Myanmar.
