Ngwe Saung is a 9-mile-long beach in the Bay of Bengal and located 5 hours away driving from Yangon in the Ayeyawaddy Delta region. This is a very lively and rich in culture region that is crowded with villages around Pathein. Travelers will have the chance to experience the peculiar culture of the region, riding a bike to the many surrounding villages to stroll through the markets and observe the fishermen, or jumping on an elephant’s back for a jungle safari. The name “Ngwe Saung”  actually means Silver Beach” and it is an enchanting beach made up of fine white sand dunes and crystal clear waters secluded by a luscious, green landscape.

The Detailed Program

Day 1 : Yangon – Ngwe Saung Beach

You will be picked up from your hotel for the drive to Ngwe Saung. The drive (5 hours) passes through the picturesque Delta region to Ngwe Saung which actually means “Silver Beach,” reflecting the 14 kilometer-long white sandy beach along the Bay of Bengal well. After around 3 hours you’ll reach Pathein, the capital of Ayeyarwaddy Delta, where you can stop for a short visit. You will continue your journey (approximately two more hours of driving) to Ngwe Saung. After checking-in at your hotel you’ll be free for the rest of the day to enjoy the idyllic beach or to take advantage of the hotel’s facilities.

Day 2 / 3 : Ngwe Saung Beach

For the next two days, there are no planned activities. Relax at the white sand beach and float in the crystal waters or get a bit more adventurous with an optional boat trip to one of the many offshore islands. Or hop on a bike and explore the surrounding villages where you will discover the local lifestyle and perhaps see some fishermen returning with the day’s fresh catch. (Note: Excursions are not included and will be subject to additional charges.)

Day 4 : Ngwe Saung Beach – Yangon

After breakfast you will be free to enjoy the morning at your leisure until your departure transfer back to Yangon. You will be transferred to the airport where you will check-in and fly to Yangon to either continue traveling on your own or to continue your journey,
