Do not miss out on some of Myanmar’s southern jewels. Your journey takes you to the Golden Rock, one of Myanmar’s most dramatic and honored sites that is not to be missed. Then, you will continue to Hpa-An which has a diverse range of magnificent sights with its picturesque lake, dramatic pagodas, and the fabulous “Cave of Ten Thousand Buddhas.”

Day 1 : Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock

Set off this morning for a 1 hour and 30 minute drive (80 kilometers) to Bago, a former capital filled with Buddhas and temples. There, we will visit the Thamanay Buddhist Academy and the one-thousand-year old Shwemawdaw Pagoda. We continue to Kin Pun, a small town at the foot of a mountain, switch vehicles to a public local truck for a winding and exhilarating ride to the top of the mountain. Arriving at the Golden Rock you’ll be awestruck by the gleaming Golden Rock and the views that surround it. Watch as the sun sets overtop of Kyaikhtiyo – a magical sight- and then return to your hotel for the evening.

Day 2 : Golden Rock – Hpa An

In the early morning, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Golden Rock again to soak in its atmosphere– especially when the glinting boulder is bathed in the purple, sometimes misty light of dawn. Afterwards, you will hike down to the base camp and continue your journey to Hpa-An. On the way, you will stop at the beautiful villages of Kyauk Kalat and La Kha Na. Then, you will visit the Saddan cave, the most impressive one in the area. You will need a flashlight to go through the tunnel and be enchanted on the other side by the landscape.
