Myanmar Rainy Season Promotion with Beach Extension in Thailand

This is a special Myanmar rainy season promotion including a round trip to Myanmar and a beach extension in Thailand.

Day 1

Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon MyanmarYangon Arrival

Welcome to Myanmar! You will arrive in the former capital of Yangon. This bustling city is the largest city in the country and provides a great introduction to the country’s rich history and culture. It is located along the Ayerwaddy River, the largest and mot famous river in Myanmar.

Today we will visit many beautiful and important sites in the city, including the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, which is breathtaking at sunset and a 70-meter long reclining Buddha statue at the Kyaukhtagyi Pagoda.

Lunch and dinner will be on the traveller’s on account and the night will be spent in Yangon

Day 2

Myanmar Bagan Temple PlainYangon – Bagan

After breakfast, you will hop on a flight to Bagan will you will be awestruck by the sight of over 2,000 pagodas blanketing the flat plains.  It is truly a sight to behold from air and will become even more enchanting when you explore them by bicycle or horse-drawn carriage.

We will first visit a temple to enjoy the panoramic views from the terrace and will continue on to SShwezigon Pagoda and Nyaung Oo Ananda temple. Next we will carry on the village of Myinknkaba to visit the Gubyaukgyi temple and a few other smaller temples. Here you will be able to visit lacquer-ware shops, where you can admire or perhaps purchase some of the fine handcraft that Myanmar is known for.

In the late afternoon you will enjoy a private sunset cruise along the river. This is beautiful experience as there are many ancient pagodas along the riverfront as well as local villages.

Day 3

The day will start with a visit to the morning market in Nyaung Oo village.  We will them drive through the temple plans to the village of Minnanthu, a less visited village, and visit the Payathonzu temple, Lemyentha temple, Nandamannya temple and the Kyat Kyat Cabe monastary which is an important meditation center.

The day will end with a horse-drawn cart ride through the temple plains to watch the sunset.

Day 4

Mandalay Kuthodaw PagodaBagan – Mandalay

In the morning, we will take a flight to Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar. Our first stop upon arrival will be the Mahamuni pagoda which has a stunning golden Buddha statue.

Mandalay is also famous for local handicrafts and we will visit a traditional workshop to see how traditional techniques are still used.

The Kuthodaw pagoda is home to the world’s largest book which is comprised of 729 marble plates with Buddhist teachings inscribed on them.

After, we will visit Shwenandaw monastery, the “Golden monastery”, which is the only one that remains of the royal court from the 19th  century.

Before the sun sets, we will visit Shwe Kyin monastery, great place to end the day and observe monks procession and evening chants of the novices.

Day 5

Mandalay U Bein BridgeMandalay – Sagaing – Ava – Amarapura

South of Mandalay are the hills of Sagaing, a Buddhist center of Myanmar and home to 3,000 nuns and monks and 100 meditation shrines.

Here we will visit Swan Oo Pon Nya and U Min Thonze pagodas and then carry on to a small pottery village, to learn about the local handicraft.

Afterward we will continue on to Ava, a former capital from the 14th to 18th centuries. We will take a short excursion riding on the traditional horse cart and visit different local monuments.

We will then head to Amarapura,the former royal capital! Our first stop will be at a weaving shop known for exclusive productions, We will then visit Mahagandayon Monastery. We will end our day by enjoying the sunset at U Bein bridge, a famous landmark in Myanmar.

Day 6

Myanmar Inle Lake IndeinMandalay – Heho – Inle Lake

In the morning, we will take a flight to Heho. It is a one hour scenic drive to Nyaung Shwe, the gateway to Inle Lake. Along the way, we will stop at Sjweyanpyay Monastery which is built from teak wood.

When we arrive at Inle Lake, a boat will be awaiting us to take us on a one hour long ride through small waterways to take us to Indein, a Pa-O village. Upon arrival, we will explore the village and climb a hill to view the ruins of hundreds of stupas dotting the landscape that surrounds the lake.

Lunch and dinner are on the traveller’s own account. We will spend the night in Inle Lake.

Day 7

In the morning we will visit the market which is well-known for changing every five days. Afterward, we will visit the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, who’s name means ‘center of the lake’ and the Nga Hpe Cahung monastery, that used to be famous for jumping cats!  Now there are only few cats left and they don’t jump anymore!

Then we are off to Heho by private car to catch a flight to Yangon.

Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free.

Day 8

Thailand Koh SamuiYangon – Bangkok – Koh Samui

After breakfast, you will take a flight to Koh Samui via Bangkok.

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel will be provided by private car.

Day 9 -11

Thailand Koh SamuiKoh Samui

You will have the whole day for yourself to relax on the beach and enjoy the crystal clear water. Koh Samui is a beautiful island with stunning postcard views of palm trees, blue water and powdery white sand.

Day 12

Bangkok ThailandKoh Samui – Bangkok – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Bangkok and then you will carry on with your international departure.

ALTERNATIVE TO KOH SAMUI:  Instead of a flight, you can take a 3 to 4 hour drive to Hua Hin from Bangkok and enjoy relaxing beach time there and overnight there as well.
