Day 1

Yangon DowntownArrival in Yangon

Mingalabar and welcome to Myanmar! Your first stop on your exclusive honeymoon tour in Myanmar is Yangon, the former capital city. Yangon’s colonial charm is simply alluring and your visit will commence with a walking tour of downtown’s most famous buildings and monuments. It is a great introduction to the spiritual, cultural and historical sides of the city.

Day 2

Yangon Shwedagon PagodaExplore Yangon

Enjoy a leisurely start to the morning before meeting your guide for today’s excursion. First cross the Yangon river to Dhala, a sleepy town filled with palm trees and quiet laneways where you will get a taste of local Myanmar life. Return to the city centre and visit the massive reclining Buddha at Kyauktatgyi Pagoda and Kandawgyi Park’s glittering Royal Barge. After a relaxing tea break, head to Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most holy site, to watch cast its setting rays over the gilded stupa.

Day 3

Bagan River SandbankFrom Yangon to the Temple Fields of Bagan

The next destination on your honeymoon is the awe-inspiring town of Bagan. Located on the Ayeyarwaddy River, Bagan is filled with more than 4000 religious monuments dating from the 9th to 14th centuries. Spend the morning exploring, stopping at famous monuments and climbing to the top of an elevated temple for a panoramic view. A special evening is in store with a private cruise along the river followed by a romantic, candle-lit dinner on a sandbank- an unforgettable memory of your stay in Myanmar.

Day 4

Bagan Temple PlainBagan – The Living Museum

Continue exploring Bagan and its many wonders today. At mid-morning partake in the beautiful, solemn Buddhist ceremony of donating food offerings. You will receive a special blessing from the monks, wishing you health and happiness for your life together. You will also have the chance to see the production of traditional lacquerware before taking a horsecart ride past more remarkable sites. A special sunset with local snacks is the perfect way to end your stay in Bagan.

Day 5

Kalaw Elephant CampElephant Camp and the Former Hill Station Kalaw

Travel to the Shan State this morning for a chance to explore the natural beauty of Myanmar. Take a trek to a remote Elephant Rescue project where you will see former logging elephants in their natural habitat- unchained and free to roam. The guides and mahouts are deeply passionate about conservation and will teach you about the indigenous flora and fauna and discuss environmental issues. After lunch at the camp travel to the former hill station of Kalaw, where you will spend the night.

Day 6

Inle Lake FishermanFrom Kalaw to the One-Leg Rowers of Inle Lake

After a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, make your way to Nyaung Shwe, a small town of narrow streets dotted with temples, monasteries and tea shops. Then you will board a private motorboat and begin heading out onto Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s most spectacular and breathtaking sights. Along the way you will pass several villages that are built on stilts over the lake, which are inhabited by the local Intha people. Visit sites such as Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery and Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s most important pagoda, as well as local cottage industries.

Day 7

Inle Lake IndeinIndein  – In the Footsteps of Aloung Sithou

Awake early this morning for a romantic sunrise on the lake, with tea and coffee served in the middle of the calm, quiet waters. Return to your hotel for breakfast then resume sightseeing to the remote edge of the lake where the village of Indein lies. Climb to the top of Indein Pagoda complex to see great views over the lake and the hundreads of small stupas which dot the hill. Continue exploring the lake, stopping at local villages or shops if you wish, before returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 8

Yangon Sule PagodaFrom Inle Lake back to Yangon

Return to Yangon this morning by flight for your final day in Myanmar. There is time for last minute shopping or additional sightseeing however the afternoon is set aside for a special farewell. You’ll visit a well-known Myanmar astrologer, something that every Burmese couple does at least once in their life, to find out about your future. Astrology plays an important role in Myanmar culture and is a reading provides a fascinating look in to the traditional belief- as well as a fun vision in to your future! A lavish dinner at Yangon’s top table caps off your memoralbe holiday here in Myanmar.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel.

Depending on your flight schedule it’s time to bid farewell from this amazing country. The day is at your leisure to do as you please until your international departure flight. (car and guide at disposal until departure flight).
